A patient app that cut missed GP appointments for a primary-care network

A group of GP practices serving tens of thousands of patients relied entirely on phone booking, with long hold times and a high no-show rate. We built a patient app for booking, reminders and repeat prescriptions, integrated with the practices' clinical system.

01 The challenge

Long phone queues pushed patients to book anything available and then not turn up, costing hundreds of clinical hours a month. Repeat prescriptions were requested on paper or by phone with a two-day turnaround. Patient satisfaction with access was poor, and reception staff were overwhelmed.

02 What we did

  • iOS and Android patient app with NHS-login-style identity verification
  • Online appointment booking and cancellation integrated with the practices' clinical system in real time
  • Automated reminders and waiting-list offers to fill cancelled slots
  • Repeat-prescription requests routed straight to the practice workflow
  • Practice dashboard for reception teams showing demand, no-shows and channel shift

03 The results

  • No-show rate fell sharply within weeks of launch
  • Most bookings moved online, freeing phone lines
  • Majority of repeat prescriptions submitted digitally
  • Patient satisfaction with access improved markedly

Sendtra: home-to-school transport management and a driver app for a UK local council

Councils run hundreds of daily home-to-school journeys for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Sendtra gives the transport office one place to plan routes, allocate drivers and passenger assistants, and see every journey happening — with a driver app that replaces paper run sheets.
