A trust spanning more than a dozen hospitals ran several different electronic health record systems that could not share data. We built a FHIR-based integration platform giving clinicians one view of a patient's history across every site.
When a patient was transferred between hospitals, the receiving team often had no access to prior records. Tests were repeated, decisions delayed and safety risks logged. Each EHR vendor had its own data model and interface, and any solution had to meet NHS information-governance, security and audit requirements from day one.
